Plaintiff Bond

The plaintiff is the person who, in a law suit or court case, files the suit and accuses the defending party of some sort of wrongdoing.

A Plaintiff Bond indemnifies (binds the indemnifying person or party to hold someone harmless, meaning that the indemintor will not take legal action against this person, in the event of a loss) the plaintiff for payment of damages or costs incurred to the defendant should the case go in the defendant's favor.

The bond penalty (amount) is decided by the court, not the individual.

Examples of plaintiff bonds are Sequestration Bonds, Attachment Bonds, Replevin Bonds, etc.
