Pest Control Bond

Pest control bonds are required by some states for applicants or license-holders that plan to eradicate rodents, birds, weeds, plant diseases, insects, etc. These bonds vary by state, so it is important to contact the appropriate obligee to determine the bond penalty (amount) being required.

Pest control bonds guarantee that the principal will fully and faithfully comply with all laws that the state requires of pest control companies. These bonds also guarantee that anyone who suffers losses as a result of a violation of these laws will be reimbursed by the pest control company.

Although some states consider these bonds to be continuous in nature, most states require a continuation certificate at renewal. In these cases, a certificate is issued upon receipt of the renewal payment, and it is mailed to the principal. The principal then becomes responsible for delivering the certificate to the appropriate state office.

Pest control bonds typically have a 30-day cancellation provision, but this is subject to the state's preference.
